So, Rockstar Energy Drink is associated (through the CEO & CFO) with a family with quite some history. ROCKSTAR CEO Russell Weiner's dad and ROCKSTAR CFO Janet Weiner's husband is conservative radio host Michael Savage, born as Michael Alan Weiner. Russell and Michael also founded a society that, in addition to other things, called for "ending bilingual education." Michael Savage Weiner is one of the most obnoxious, intolerant, homophobic, close-minded individuals out there (e.g. he once told a gay caller to get AIDS and DIE). Let's read some of the things he's said before, shall we?

Discussing student volunteers distributing food to the homeless in San Francisco, Savage declared that "the girls from Branson [school] can go in and maybe get raped... because they seem to like the excitement of it. There's always the thrill and possibility they'll be raped in a dumpster while giving out a turkey sandwich"
At a Rockstar-sponsored concert, his son Russell Weiner warmed up the crowd chanting, "Who's heterosexual and proud? If you're not, hopefully you will be soon."
Russell also ran for office and one of the things on his platform included, "end bilingual education - promote intensive English courses"
Michael has applauded the abuse at Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq, opposed aid for tsunami victims, and called for the dropping of nuclear weapons on an an Arab country, any Arab country. He was fired from a brief stint at MSNBC after telling a gay caller to "get AIDS and die" (see quote above.) He runs a group called The Paul Revere Society, which among other things, calls for the imprisonment of anti-war activists for sedition.
The growing boycott is calling for all people to not drink, buy or promote Rockstar.
Feel free to contact CEO Russell Weiner. Though he probably won't listen to what you have to say, at least you can give him a piece of your mind.

It's hypocritical to defend Weiner's 'free speech' in the same breath you insult people speaking out against him. We have just as much right to speak out against him and exercise free market consumer choices.

I used to drink probably 5 to 7 Rockstars a week. I'm going to try to double that from now on. I'm on board with about 80 percent of those statements!!
