I don't think that Adam was ever in (the closet) ... I think he was always openly out ... I mean, from what I've seen ... I do. I never thought he wasn't - Kara DioGuardi
Welcome : )
We don't know what to really say to this other than ... kudos, Adam : ) Though Lady GaGa beat you to it, we still love ya anyways. We're incredibly excited to see your diva-ness come out more now (e.g. his pre-idol version of "Crazy"). Merry coming out! Please don't have the same Rollingstone cover as GaGa though (or maybe do ... hmm).
Adam Lambert Will Officially Come Out
"American Idol" runner-up Adam Lambert, who has been coyly noncommittal about his sexuality since becoming a sensation on the TV talent show, will come out in an interview with Rolling Stone magazine in next month's edition, the New York Post reported today. Lambert has cheerfully ducked questions about his sexual preference, despite photos posted on the Web showing him kissing men, dressing in drag and otherwise acting like a British comedian. The Post, quoting a "well-placed" source at Rolling Stone, said Lambert will put the speculation to rest in his cover-story interview. "He didn't want it to be an issue during the contest, but he's fine with his sexuality," the source told the New York Post. As recently as this week, Lambert told people to "keep speculating" when asked about his sexual preference. Rolling Stone would not comment on the Post story.
The claim comes a day after "American Idol" judge Kara DioGuardi taped an interview on TV's "The View" in which she says she thought questions about Lambert's sexuality had already been answered.
"I don't think that Adam was ever in (the closet)," she says in the interview, which aired Friday. "I think he was always openly out." Walters then asked if Lambert "was always openly out" while competing on "Idol." "I think he was," DioGuardi replies."I mean, from what I've seen ... I do. I never thought he wasn't." Meanwhile, Lambert has struck back at Clay Aiken, another "Idol" runner-up who recently denounced Lambert's singing on his Web site. "I don't know Clay," Lambert told Access Hollywood Thursday. "I'm glad he's getting headlines now though, because he wasn't before." Last week, Aiken wrote on his Web site that he felt Lambert's rendition of "Ring of Fire" on "Idol" was "contrived, awful, and slightly frightening" and almost made his ears bleed. A day later, he apologized for his comments: "I do apologize to Adam for my colorful (and negative) choice of words. I hope he can forgive me." Said Lambert, "If he wants to ride my coattails about it, good for him." - Mercury News
The Aiken-Adam Smackdown Continues!
The "American Idol" smackdown continues as runner-up Adam Lambert responds to the harsh words Clay Aiken posted on his blog last week. "I don’t know Clay," Lambert recently told Acess Hollywood. "I’m glad he’s getting headlines now though, because he wasn’t before." Lambert’s snarky comment comes in response to a few choice words Aiken posted on his official blog last week about the "Idol" contender. Aiken began the post by confessing he only watched "Idol" once this season, where he tuned in to catch Lambert's original performance of Johnny Cash’s "Ring of Fire." Aiken wrote, "At that moment, [I] thought my ears would bleed. Contrived, awful, and slightly frightening." Quick to remedy the situation, Aiken fired off an apology a day later. "I do apologize to Adam for my colorful (and negative) choice of words. I hope he can forgive me," wrote Aiken. "I imagine he doesn’t give a damn! :-) God knows he shouldn’t." For Aiken’s sake, it appears Lambert took the high road, and didn’t pay too much attention to the comments. "If he wants to ride my coattails about it, good for him," Lambert quipped on Access Hollywood, offering a thumbs up sign to the camera. - NYDAILYNEWS GOSSIP
